Moritz Bauer has been unveiled as a new loan signing at FC Ufa, in Russia.
The Austria international right-back had been training with Stoke City under-23s since returning from a long-term loan at Celtic in the summer.
He had joined in January 2018 from Russian club Rubin Kazan in a deal that was got over the line on the day Mark Hughes was sacked and announced later.
Paul Lambert used him in various positions but he fell sharply out of favour following the arrival of Gary Rowett.
A statement from FC Ufa says: “FC Ufa and English Stoke City have agreed to lease Austrian-Swiss defender Moritz Bauer.
“Ufa is glad to welcome Moritz to our team, we wish you great success and many victories.”
Ufa are currently second-bottom in the Russian Premier League and take on Ventspils in a mid-season break friendly tomorrow.
Stoke managed to negotiate a series of outgoings in the final few days of the window, with fellow Austria cap Kevin Wimmer also making his exit, on loan to Karlsruhe in Germany.
Fringe men Tom Ince, Lee Gregory and Liam Lindsay have gone too, to Luton, Derby and Preston respectively.
