MADHYA Pradesh’s star equestrian Pranay Khare bagged three gold medals at the two-day Equestrian Premier League (EPL) held recently at Embassy International Riding School, Bengaluru. MP’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated Pranay on his achievement. On first day of the league, Pranay clinched a gold medal in the 1.20 metre jumping event while riding the Vanilla Sky horse. The Day Two of the league witnessed another gold winning performance of Khare in the 1.15 metre jumping event. The same day, he competed in the 1.30 metre jumping event, riding Vanilla Sky horse, and performed splendidly to score a hat-trick of gold medals. “MP Equestrian Academy and other sports academies are imparting high-performance training and sports facilities to athletes to ensure excellence at national and international-levels.
“This is why our athletes are bringing laurels to India”, Scindia said. A trainee of the MP Equestrian Academy since 2013, Pranay, has achieved several accolades earlier. He has won 3 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal at the international equestrian competitions. At Senior National Equestrian competitions, he has won 2 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. In Junior National competitions, he has 17 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals to his credit. He holds a total of 58 gold, 47 silver and 36 bronze medals, captured at horse shows and Equestrian Premier Leagues (EPL). He is a recipient of Eklavya and Vikram Sports awards. Currently, Pranay is kitting himself up in Bengaluru to appear in 2022 Asian Games, under the guidance of FEI World Jumping Challenge Champion and Coach Nitin Gupta.
